EXPERIENCED INSPECTOR

Napoleons Casino & Restaurant Manchester is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated full time Inspectors. Part time roles are also available.

Job Summary

The successful candidate should have good all-round experience and knowledge of leading small a team within the Casino industry and the ability to be able to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Gaming Pit within the constraints of all Legislation.

Have excellent communication skills and work well within a small enthusiast team and on their own.  To ensure compliance with Legislation and company procedures in respect of Gambling Commission’s LCCP and including Health & Safety in the workplace and public areas at all times, ensuring compliance with all Data Protection Legislation.

Supervision of the tables in order to ensure the highest standard of efficiency, security, and customer service (especially that the proper supervision of gaming at tables is carried out to ensure that the integrity of the gaming is not compromised) in accordance with:

  • The policies and procedures contained in this Manual of Gaming Procedures.
  • The Gambling Act 2005, the Gambling Commission’s Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP) and the Money Laundering Regulations and Guidelines.

Main Duties

  1. To check the cash-chip float on the table and ensure that the float is correct before the commencement of gaming.
  2. To ensure that the tables are clean and in good operating order before and during games (i.e. keeping the tables free of handbags, litter, etc).
  3. To ensure that the Dealer conducts the game in accordance with this Gaming Manual and performs to the standards required by the company.
  4. To provide instructional guidance in order to improve and maintain the standards of dealing referred to in this Gaming Manual.
  5. To supervise all transactions taking place at the table and, by recording the Players’ cash drops correctly, comply with the Money Laundering Regulations with particular regard to the recording of transactions.
  6. To maintain awareness of the table win/loss results, and to inform the Pit Boss of any changes to these results.
  7. To check all payouts to ensure that they are correct both in the amounts being paid out and that they have been made up in the correct denominations.
  8. To maintain table security by being alert to cheating by customers or staff (possibly involving collusion by both).
  9. To notify the Pit Boss or the Management of any incidents (either detected or of a doubtful nature).
  10. To inform the oncoming Inspector of any relevant details including the table results, the nature of the Players, the competence of the Dealers and any incidents to note.
  11. To ensure that the ‘No more bets’ call is observed at all times and that the Dealer spreads their arms above the layout when announcing “no more bets” for the second time to ensure that no bets are added to, deducted from, or changed after this has been given. This should also help the Dealer in the pacing of the game in that they should time their spin so that the Players are placing their last chips as the “no more bets” is called for the first time.
  12. To acknowledge and confirm all call bets announced by the Dealer by repeating them loudly and clearly.
  13. To ensure that the Dealer manages the table float efficiently, and to inform the Pit Boss of any fills required.
  14. To complete all documentation correctly and sign accordingly, especially the Inspectors’ hourly Table Sheets (including the Inspectors’ and Dealers’ initials, the hourly result and ALL relevant spenders).
  15. To read the needs of the game in progress at all times, and liaise with the Pit Boss to ensure that Dealers with the appropriate experience are allocated to the appropriate level of action on any particular game.
  16. To remain at the table to check the cash float at the close of the game.
  17. To assist in the count.
  18. To deal with customers in a polite manner and ensure that the Dealer displays the same attitude.
  19. To be constantly aware of the comfort of the customers and to resolve any jostling or overcrowding of customers (or if unable to resolve, then to bring it to the attention of the Pit Boss or to a Manager).
  20. To provide a brief explanation of the game to customers if required and appropriate.
  21. To settle minor disputes and report any major incidents immediately to a Pit Boss or Manager.
  22. To perform the functions of a Dealer when required.
  23. To co-operate with the Pit Boss and the Management in order to ensure the efficient operation of the casino in general, and to carry out any duties as requested.
  24. To bear in mind at all times the company’s obligations regarding Social Responsibility.
  25. To report any Key Event to the Commission in line with the conditions imposed on Personal Licensees.

Person Specification:

  • Able to work on own initiative as well as direct dealers.
  • PFL accreditation with the Gambling Commission.
  • Must be willing to work varied shifts and follow instructions as well as giving clear communication to the management team.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.

  6. ·     To communicate with all gaming colleagues whilst dealing to ensure smoothness and efficiency in the running of the gaming tables ensuring all relevant information is given.
  7. ·     To be prepared to be involved in the cash count during operations and box duties when required.
  8. ·     To bear in mind at all times the company’s obligations regarding Social Responsibility.
  9. ·     To report any Key Event to the Commission in line with the conditions imposed on Personal Licensees.
